Getting to Know StarfishETL
Ready to dive into your next data project? You can create an account on StarfishETL’s platform to begin manipulating your data. Before you do, make sure you can answer “yes” to the following questions:
Do the solutions I’m working with support API access?
StarfishETL can connect to any application as long as it allows API access.
Do I know which tier of StarfishETL I need?
StarfishETL offers different tiers based on your deployment needs, transactions, and connections.
Do I have a dedicated team or individual for a support contact?
Who will be working with StarfishETL on this project? An internal team member, or an external partner?
Do I know how to access the backend credentials of the systems I’m working with?
Whoever is in charge of your project should understand the basics of accessing system credentials for the solutions you're working with.
Do I have custom fields or functions documented?
It's important to go into your project with a clear understanding of the custom fields and functions within your systems and how those will play into your project.
Have I cleared duplicate and outdated information from my systems?
If you haven't prepared your data prior to beginning your StarfishETL project, please contact our team for help. Data preparation is crucial to project success.
StarfishETL Platform Components
What features can you take advantage of once you create an account? Check out these StarfishETL platform components to learn more.
Cloud Cartographer
The Cloud Cartographer is our low code iPaaS solution for designing personalized data maps and connections. It allows developers to work in several popular languages including VBScript, C#, JavaScript, and Python for extensibility through scripting while visual components give less technical users easy visibility into the flows of data.
StarfishETL Ray
StarfishETL’s Ray technology saves users with on-premises applications from having to work locally or expose their servers through an unprotected firewall to integrate. The Ray connects to a locally installed agent and securely accesses protected internal systems to eliminate firewall constraints and concerns. Whether integrating two in-house systems or your on-premises and Cloud solutions, StarfishETL has you covered.
StarfishETL Stitch
StarfishETL’s AI-powered Stitch Engine uses software patterns to build integrations based on heuristics. This allows the system to rapidly develop new integrations that can later be personalized by users to accelerate development and streamline architecture.
Pre-Configured Maps
StarfishETL provides pre-configured maps between some of today’s most popular business solutions. These maps are accessible via the Cloud Cartographer and allow businesses to connect core data points between systems with those standard fields connected out-of-the-box. This makes it faster and more convenient to initiate powerful data relationships.
Connector Library
StarfishETL’s connector library offers accessibility to 300+ diverse business applications through API connectivity. Even systems that aren’t innately compatible can be hooked into one another for shared analytics, deeper data processing, and automated data governance.
Getting Started with Your Account
Here’s what to expect when starting your first StarfishETL project.

Step 1: Create your account.
Register your information and create a password so you can log back into your existing projects at your convenience.

Step 2: Set up access to your systems.
Go into each application you’re connecting and pull the credentials that inform how StarfishETL connects.

Step 3: Modify your project.
Use StarfishETL’s visual designer and coding tools to personalize your data connections, triggers and workflows, scheduling, and data loads to meet your project needs.

Step 4: Run a test load.
It is always best-practices to run a test data load before running your full project script to ensure all your connection points are working properly. If the load is successful, StarfishETL will notify you. If not, you must remedy the errors before completing the full import.

Step 5: Initiate your data project.
With the right parameters in place and the test data performing as expected, you’ll be ready to initiate your data project(s) and refresh the data on the schedule you choose.
