If you have been on Salesforce and decided to migrate to SugarCRM as a cost-effective alternative, the next step is migrating your data from Salesforce to SugarCRM. Getting on Salesforce is easy, getting off is not. When moving from Salesforce to SugarCRM, the toughest part is getting all of the files that represent the different aspects of your data into a new SugarCRM database.
Typically Salesforce will not deliver an entire database once a subscription is cancelled. Salesforce will very nicely send you one file for each table in the database, which is usually around 15 files, and let you put them back together again. Just like Humpty Dumpty, it's easier said than done. If you are still a Salesforce customer, you still have access to the Salesforce API to migrate to SugarCRM. IF you are planning to migrate from Salesforce to SugarCRM, DO NOT cancel your account until all of your data is migrated and verified.
Starfish ETL™ is the tool of choice for migrating from Salesforce to SugarCRM.
