I'm doing an import from SugarCRM to SalesLogix.

The Sugar database was customized to include 10 fields on the OPPORTUNITY table called "PERSON1","PERSON2","PERSON3" ......to "PERSON 10"

I would like to import these into a custom SalesLogix table called C_OPPORTUNITY_PERSONS which lets you associate 1 or more persons to an Opportunity.

So essentially each row in the source, could result in up to 10 rows being inserted into the destination.
Further I would like to implement some logic that if PERSON 3 is blank, then that row should not be imported

What would be the best way to accomplish this?
One way I can think of is to setup 10 tasks under the Opportunity job to import each field...but thats a bit painful!
I'm sure there's an easier way!

Thanks!
Anosh

I think the best way would be to create your first stage to import Person 1, then make 10 copies of the stage and simply change which field it was looking at.. You could use the Skip If Blank option to skip over the stage if there's no value - under Manage Stages, make sure Skip If Blank behavior is set to Stage (not row)

Could you clarify how the SKIP would work in this case? If I check "Skip Blank Writes" how would it know that my "PERSON3" field was blank and hence it should skip that row? Does it look at the destination mapping and if every field is blank it skips it....and in that case since I'm mapping the OPPORTUNITYID as part of the job stage, does it still know that it should skip the stage?

Ah never mind I think I may have found the answer. I believe on the map itself I have to click on the Skip if Blank button on the toolbar and then check the checkbox for the PERSON3 field, is that correct?
