Hello,

I am setting up an import from MS Dynamics (CRM 4.0) to SugarCRM (7.1.6; using the REST connector). I have added the necessary fields in Sugar and updated our license. I am now setting up the connection and it works but when I try to propagate the connection something weird happens. It looks like it is trying to set the connection with the legacy connector (Microsoft CRM) and not the new connector (Dynamics CRM) because when I go to the other jobs it is set to the Microsoft CRM tab and not the Dynamics CRM tab. Is this because it is an older version of Dynamics? I tried going into other jobs and clicking on the Dynamics CRM tab and just hitting save. When I then go back to the original users job and hit propagate it works but it just puts the name of the job in the SQL Selection Statement textarea (ie, contacts). Am I doing something wrong? Are there prebuilt select queries in the Dynamics map like there was in the ACT! to SugarCRM one? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Garrett

Hello,

The Propagate Connection button will only copy the login credentials from the Job you are on to any other Job that has the same adapter selected. You would need to go to all of your jobs and select the Dynamics CRM connector and then hit Propagate Connection from one that works. This would copy your Dynamics API URL and the username and password. The connection queries and/or module source selected should not change.

If you downloaded a pre-built map, it should have connection queries built into it, but possibly only on the older connector, depending on when the map was built. The query would not move from the old to the new connector automatically.

I have not dealt with that map directly. Aron my be able to chime in with what is in that map.

Regards,
Justin

Garrett,

Justin is right - you'll have to switch each job's connector to the new Dynamics CRM connector - then go back and propagate. Unfortunately in your case, this only brings over the connection information and not the query. You'll have to enter the SELECT statement yourself. Use the Query Builder to help in this and select the right table.

However I have recently converted that mapping myself. I am going to update the map on the download page shortly and will send you the link.

Ok the map has been updated on the prebuilt map page. Please download again & use the Dynamics CRM 20xx -to- SugarCRM.spd file.

Thank you so much guys! I really appreciate the responses. Aron, thank you for updating that map. Will this new map work between CRM 4.0 of Dynamics and 7.1 for Sugar? I noticed in the description it looked like the new map is only for versions 2011 and 2013 of Dynamics?

It should work for CRM 4.0 also - in the Connection string, change the version by using "CRM Version=CRM 4.0".

However if you are using CRM 4.0 the old map should have worked also.. Yes - the "Microsoft CRM" connector is a legacy one but will continue to work for the next few releases of Starfish ETL.

Ok, great thank you. I was running into some connection issues on the legacy map that I was not experiencing on the newer map so I wasn't sure if it was something on my side or not. I appreciate all the help.
